The Flesher family farm on Bonita Grande Drive may not be a familiar destination, but this time of year in the evening from Dec 6  through New Year’s day, putting a visit on your list of ‘things to do’ will not disappoint.

Worth the drive down I-75 to Bonita Beach Rd, each year the Flesher farm transforms in to a magical land.   The annual Christmas light display started in 1986 by Carl “Bud” Flesher and his father Charles, and is a family tradition that gets brighter and brighter every year.

The 5 acre farm is decorated with over 3 million lights, hundreds of modern and vintage decorations and winter wonderland displays.  Many are animated and come to life, delighting children of all ages.

The display has been steadily growing year after year.  Just imagine the hours and hours of hard work and dedication that go into putting up all the lights and decorations, and changing out burnt bulbs.

The family starts the process each September, and all donations benefit the Bonita Springs Optimist Club with a scholarship in honor of Vickie Flesher.

If you go, it’s free to attend but please bring a donation, your smile and a jacket for a chilly night.  Take I-75 south, exit Bonita Beach Rd and turn east (left), then left at the first light on Bonita Grande Drive.  You can’t miss it.   Park in the grass and walk among the glory!
